The Fallen 08th January Seven members of the Rhodesian forces are remembered today – five of whom are BSAP members. 1974 – Cst Tinawo Ngonya (aged 34), Uniform BSAP, Murdered by terrorists, Brunswick Farm, Gatooma/Hartley Road. 1977 – FR Basil Calder (aged 39), PR BSAP, KIA. 1977 – FR Raymond Gough (aged 49), PR BSAP, KIA. (Both BSAP members above were KIA having been sent to protect the farm homestead on Bar G Ranch on the Bubi River, near Rutenga and the Lion and Elephant Motel, Op Repulse. On the night of 07 January, they successfully beat off a terrorist attack on the homestead. The following morning, the vehicle they were travelling in near the farm struck a landmine, killing both men. The farmer, Stephen Grobler, who was driving the vehicle survived the blast but, lost both his legs. 1978 – DSA Masunga Tsaurayi, Kp Prtn Intaf, Murdered by CTs in Buhera, Op Repulse. 1977 – Section Leader Basil Hapelt (aged 31), PATU BSAP, KOAS in a shooting accident - he was leading his PATU stick in the operational area at the time. 1979 – Cst Bongani Mkwananzi (aged 21), Uniform BSAP, KIA in a contact in a Bulawayo township. 1980 Pte Rams Moyo (aged 31), 10th Bn RR, KOAS from a gunshot wound.
