The Farming Recovery Fund has been set up with the NFU and local councils to help farmers directly affected meet short term costs as the flood waters recede. Additionally, there are potential grants in the Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme that are designed to make businesses more resilient. Contact Defra’s Rural Development Team, by emailing [email protected] or calling 0300 060 2700. Funding opened on Friday 28 February. (This funding will only cover uninsured losses and not items which insurance should normally cover.)
