The Fault in Our Stars to Get Bollywood Remake Mumbai-based Fox Star Studios said it will adapt the film in Hindi. “We think the story will have an emotional connect with Indian audiences,” Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh told The Hollywood Reporter. “The original English version was released here a couple of weeks ago and is still running. The film has done a business of about $1 million. We had actually thought of adapting it locally even before the film was released here.” Details about the adaptation are still being worked out “in terms of which director will helm the project along with casting details and when it can go into production,” added Singh. Based on John Green’s novel of the same name, The Fault in Our Stars was directed by Josh Boone starring Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff, with Laura Dern, Sam Trammell and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles. Woodley plays a 16-year-old cancer patient who attends a support group where she subsequently meets and falls in love with a cancer survivor (Elgort). In May, FSS released City Lights, the Hindi remake of U.K. foreign Oscar entry Metro Manila. Recently, the studio unveiled the teaser of Bang Bang!, the Bollywood reworking of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day. Starring A-listers actor Hrithik Roshan and actress Katrina Kaif, Bang Bang! will open on Oct. 2.
