The Finnish and Swedish governments could sign NATO Host Nation - TopicsExpress

The Finnish and Swedish governments could sign NATO Host Nation agreements next week at a summit in Wales, Finnish Defense Minister Carl Haglund said Aug. 28, Yle reported. Sweden will decide on whether to sign by Aug. 28, Svenska Dagbladet reported. The agreement would pave the way for NATO forces to use Swedish and Finnish territory on the way to operations, although it does not obligate either party to give or receive aid or troops, nor is it a commitment to allow external troops access Finnish or Swedish territory. The deployment of foreign troops would still need parliamentary approval.
