The Firs Planning w/c 20/10/2014: Baby room will be exploring music and movement. Babies will be developing their physical skills through a range of different activities such as baby zumba, baby yoga and tummy time! Baby room will also be doing some ribbon dancing and playing with musical instruments. They will also make sounds in water such as splashing and blowing bubbles. Older babies will be continuing their theme of transport in a number of ways. They will be making car tracks in the shape of numbers 1,2,3 and driving cars along the numbers. They will also make junk modelling trains, footprint and hand print transport pictures. Older babies will use potatoes to print different shaped modes of transport. Older babies will also put together their own clothes pegs airplanes to fly. Toddlers will be starting the theme of Autumn and Halloween this week. Toddlers will have a Halloween touch and feel box to explore with lots of different creepy crawlies and objects. Toddlers will also be going pumpkin picking and be exploring the sensory activity of carving & emptying the insides of the pumpkin. They will be doing some Autumn collecting, picking up conkers and crunchy leaves to use in a variety of ways. Toddler room will get creative with leaf printing and making egg carton spiders. Preschool will be extending their theme of letters and sounds for a further week with different activities. Preschool will mark make the key sounds they’ve been exploring , a,b,s, in different materials such as shaving foam and soil. Preschool will be looking at short simple words and sounding out the letters in the words. Preschool will also look at rhyme and alliteration together creating their own poems. Preschool will also sing their phonics songs during group time.
