The Fishermen Evening Song《渔舟唱晚》depicts the returning fishermen singing in the twilight which is a vivid portrait of rural life in the south of the Yangtze River in China. The title is derived from a poem by Wang Bo (b. 650), a poet of the Tang dynasty. It originates from a piece written during the Ming or Qing dynasty called Gui Qu Lai (Returning) and was reinterpreted by Lou Shuhua, a zheng player, in the mid 1930s.
