The Flesh Tailor by Kate Ellis. This is a good one; The detectives are called in to a gruesome murder of a local Doctor, shot on his doorstep. Meanwhile Neil the archaeologist has discovered a stash of bones beneath an out building at the local Tailors court, once known as Flesh Tailors, looking suspiciously like ancient ones but the cut marks on the joints make him wonder if something more sinister has happened here, long ago. Interspersed between chapters is the living history diary of a lady who was evacuated to Taylors court during WW2 when she was a young girl. Her memories of that time seem innocent until she begins to tell of strange happenings at the house involving the owners son who had an unhealthy interest in body dissection. As the investigation progresses the detectives discover more sinister clues dating back to the 15th century and the tale of a man called the Flesh Tailor and it is then they begin to suspect all has not been as it seems at this ancient house of horrors. Another well written story from this author with interesting history and a puzzle which keeps you guessing until the end. Recommended.
