The Following is a Message From the Grenada Football Association President Mr. Cheney Joseph 2015 the journey continues towards success in female football in Grenada. First let me congratulate our Spice Girls on a wonderful performance tonight against the Bajan Belles. Although you did not manage to retain the lead which you had in the game you were not defeated. To the parents and family of these future Grenadian Football stars, we say thank you for allowing them the opportunity to travel during this a time of family gatherings. We also wish each and everyone of the seventeen girls who travelled along with the Technical staff all the best for the holiday season. While we do not expect you to overindulge in the merriment, we wish you a fun filled Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2015 will offer lots of opportunities for female footballers on the island and we encourage you to continue training and be ready for these opportunities when they arrive. Grenada will be participating in the CONCACAF U17 and U20 Girls preliminary Tournaments as well as the Windward Islands Football Association inaugural tournament taking place in St. vincent between March and April. The Grenada Football Association has been supporting The female Secondary Schools Football Teams with support of equipment to each of the participating teams and we do anticipate being able to continue in the future. Our involvement in the Primary Schools Girls football program will see more support from the GFA in 2015 as well as support for the development of Grassroots programs within communities. During this year, we have embarked on some life skills programs for our ladies and this you can expect to be continued in the New Year. Additionally, we hope to see the first ever GFA womens Club Championship with our existing affiliates. We know there are many females of Grenadian decent in the diaspora and we welcome any information that can provide us with contacts to observe their progress. Finally, we encourage our parents to lend additional support to the young girls and ladies as we seek to provide opportunities for scholarships and other areas of opportunities for females in football. Grenada is poised to take off in womens football but we at the GFA cannot do it by ourselves and therefore we welcome every volunteer offering support to the development of womens/ female football in Grenada. The journey has just begun, but the path to success requires all hands on deck. Our Spice Girls have made us proud in their international friendlies and for this we urge you to share this information with your friends.
