The Fossey Fund (TFF) is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. TFF is committed to promoting continued research on the gorilla’s threatened ecosystems and education about their relevance to the world, and currently oversees the longest running data collection on any gorilla population. Funding from the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has supported the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund’s Karisoke Research Center’s continued monitoring, protection, and study of the habituated Rwandan population of mountain gorillas. Specifically, TFF provides daily protection presence with approximately 120 individual gorillas (including anti-poaching patrols, identifying and reporting gorilla health issues, and coordinating veterinary interventions), and trains Rwandan research assistants and Rwandan and international students.
