The Fourth Hong Kong International Piano Competition The Chopin Society of HK is now sending out to all our candidate -applicants the decision of the screening jury as to those applicants selected to enter the Competition. Results will be communicated individually to all applicants and announced in our site chopinsocietyhk.org The Competition does focus on this group of exceptionally talented young artists-after all we pride that our entrance requirements are possibly the toughest of any other piano competition. But the Society never loses sight that these are young people at the start of difficult and fiercely competitive careers in the world of classical music performance. The Competition is about bringing together this wonderful group of artists who have a great deal to teach all music lovers, precisely because they are young and less experienced and hence they can bring fresh interpretations and colors where they may lack years of practice and experience. Which brings us to the jury members giving master classes as well as performing in gala events thus ensuring that there is no barrier between teachers and taught and performers and contestants. What matter is sharing the experience and sharing the passion of music making.
