The Fp4 Air show also paid tribute to 3 pilots who have died doing what they loved - flying. I waited to put this picture up until I had personally spoken with the wife of the flying communities most recent loss. The pilots in this photo flew a beautiful and heart wrenching missing man formation. Two gyrocopters to the left and right dropped out mid flight to honor the lives and deaths of both Paul van Schalkwyk and Mark Berry. Many tears were shared by men and women alike. Mark was the first person to show me wild vultures on the Waterberg Plateau Park when he worked for Nature Conservation and I was just starting REST. Paul shared his stunning photographs and lovely personality with most of Namibia. The Huey piloted by Rainier Arangies is a classic helicopter that flew in the Vietnam war. My father was a fighter jet pilot in the same war, and went missing in action on a bombing raid. Rainier allowed me to go on the first flight, and I wore my fathers old flight jacket and helmet to honor Captain William Carl Buerk-my father, at this event. It was a flight I will never forget! Three wonderful men, now flying with angels!
