The Freedom Flotilla is truly a remarkable thing. Again, Papuans and their Australian friends are proving a point in fact by pedaling against the mainstream, by rebelling, by turning the situation around. For weeks now, all you could hear about was the obnoxious laments of Australia trying to stop people from coming by boat, in the name of xenophobia, segregation and racism… and there you have it, Papuans doing the very opposite: leaving Australia by boat in the name of Freedom, Peace and Unity. The Freedom flotilla has the unique ability to take away the masks of monsters and uncover their real faces and their true feelings. In the case of Indonesia, we are dealing with a military power that is afraid of a little flotilla coming to “kiss” its shores… they are SCARED! In the case of Australia, we are dealing with a still profoundly racist country which would not hesitate to deny some of its citizens’ consular assistance, a vital public service for which these citizens have been paying taxes. All this in the name of what? If you’re afraid now, my friends, wait until West Papua actually becomes an independent country! And it will happen.
