The Freedom from Religion Foundation, an atheist group, is now - TopicsExpress

The Freedom from Religion Foundation, an atheist group, is now erecting a massive display in Chicagos Daley Plaza. Two eight-foot banners featuring Thomas Jefferson and President John Adams promoting the secular views of our founding fathers; one banner reads In reason we trust, the other Keep state and religion separate. The exhibit, aimed at countering the Jesus in Daley Plaza going up today, which features a nineteen foot tall cross and a 10-foot tall image of the resurrected Jesus, simply reminds everyone about what Conservatives usually proclaim -- that we need to follow the doctrines/intentions of our Founding Fathers. The good news is that all parties agree that its within their rights to put up another public display, but the bad news is they cant agree on whether expressing an opinion other than a belief in Christianity in the public square then becomes labeled as an unholy attack on Christianity. Fox News says it is; the founding fathers didnt seem to think so, and I guess since the founding fathers dont have their own television network, it sucks to be them.
