The Frelimo PARTY honored this week Kenneth Kaunda, the founder of the Republic of Zambia and longtime friend of the Mozambican people, by the passage of his 90th birthday christmas, reported a press release sent yesterday to our delegation in Beira. According to the document, a mission led by Frelimo Virgil Sting Central Committee member recently went to Lusaka to participate in the celebrations of the anniversary, the ceremony included details related to the consolidation of good relations of friendship and cooperation between the Mozambican people and Zambian, dating from the struggle of times in both territories against colonial domination. Under the leadership of President Kenneth Kaunda Zambia gave unconditional support to the armed struggle for national liberation in Mozambique and it was under his aegis that signed the Lusaka Accords between FRELIMO and Portugal, which allowed the proclamation of national independence of our country June 25, 1975. In fact, Virgil Sting presented greetings and best wishes for good health and long to Kenneth Kaunda made by the Frelimo Party and the leader and President, Armando Emilio Guebuza. Similarly, greetings were transmitted from the Honorary President of the Frelimo Party and former President, Joaquim Alberto Chissano. At the same time the brigade of Frelimo Central Committee had the opportunity to inform the former President Kenneth Kaunda political and social situation in Mozambique, the Engineer Philip Nyusi election as Frelimo candidate for the presidential election of 15 October.
