The Friday Night BBQ is back on for Tonight! 7/25/14 Someone said to me this morning that if I was still working at the racetrack and tonight’s BBQ was for a sponsor like Budweiser would I have cancelled. The answer to that question is quite obvious….. NO WAY! With that said tonight’s BBQ is once again back on schedule. I have rallied the troops and we are pulling people from every direction to make sure tonight’s BBQ happens. Now we may or may not have everything that is usually on the menu since we just made the decision. We are checking our inventory at this moment. We will have different cooks so we may be a little slow but I guarantee a good time and a lot of laughs. I myself will be putting on an apron and attempting to cook. Hopefully this will not reflect on my job performance. The office, maintenance, security and recreation staff is supporting me in this effort. So this would be a great time to chat with the staff in a social environment. Finally, please consider helping. The main reason for the BBQ being in limbo is the decrease in volunteerism here at LLV. I must say in my experience it is better than most places but the extensive activities which again is a lot better than most places requires a constant need for volunteer help in order to keep the assessment fee in check.
