The GCHS team did great this weekend at the Brand Trails, racing among 452 high school mt bikers! We have a State Champion in Preston Bagley-Gurtner in the JV category. JV racer Jamie Marshall had his best finish of the year in 4th place. Freshman Bjorn Nicolaisen took 3rd in his race. Sammy Hansen returned to racing after missing the last two races to take 5th in the Sophomore race. Brityn Ballard and River Murdock had their best races of the year, taking 8th and 12th respectively, both in the Sophomore races. Max Lesoine had a top 10 finish as well, taking 10th in the JV race. And, Robin Willscheidt took home 13th in her JV category. As a team, we took home the 2nd place trophy, finishing behind So. Davis Composite who has been in 1st place all season long. Scoring in each category is tiered because of race length and difficulty, thus varsity racers earn more points than JV, JV more than Sophomore, etc. We did not have any varsity level riders this year and are quite proud of our accomplishment in the team standings.
