The GOP and the prison-industrial complex wax fat using forced labor in private, for-profit prisons. This campaign is coordinated by a nationwide organization that brings together state legislators and executives of companies that can profit by hijacking public revenues and replace public employees accountable to the voters with private, for-profit entities running prisons, schools and other public services. Now, they seek to hijack the revenues that flow from property taxes by replacing public schools and certified teachers with private, for-profit charter schools, using various legislative ruses to promote diversion of funds from public schools and teachers to private companies. Part of this process involves a bogus method for declaring public schools "educationally bankrupt," so as to oust educators who are responsible to parents and voters with corporate executives whose only responsibility is to grow profits. Many of the for-profit schools skimp on education and bring in local police to enforce student compliance. Those schools serve as antechambers to the factories run by the private prison owners and operators.
