The Gatehouse was a derelict wooden cottage we moved to the East garden at The Hermitage about twenty years ago from a village on the north side of the island. Great fun! On a Thursday, loaded onto a tractor-drawn lowboy trailer with an enthusiastic crew of volunteers fueled by endless cases of Carib beer. Electricity and telephone departments helped by raising lines and trimming trees and the traffic department obliged by closing roads.
