The Genoa Energy There is a crack, a crack in everything / thats how the light gets in (Leonard Cohen) The idea of this project was born from a dramatic event with a seemingly trivial randomness. The event is the dramatic flood which happened on October 9-10, 2014 in Genoa when heavy rains caused a number of streams and in a very short time the city was flooded. In the following days, people of different backgrounds and personal history traveled to the areas affected by the flood to bring tangible help giving way to a great solidarity. The randomness is in the light accidentally falling on the film and transmitting the creative energy that hovered over those days, a positive kind of energy, into the frames. The strength of the human being setting aside individualism and selfishness and giving more space to the sense of solidarity and common interests, to the care of social relations is capable of great actions, it opens up new perspectives and solutions that were previously unthinkable. enricobarocci/projects/the-genoa-energy/
