The George Town RSL put on another very moving and well-attended - TopicsExpress

The George Town RSL put on another very moving and well-attended dawn service this morning. It was an honour to be invited to address the gathering in the cool darkness. I spoke of the tradition of the stand-to, the love and forgiveness that we are capable of, the loss of Australian lives and the manner of their conduct in defence of our nation and its values. I also touched on the losses and the achievements of our engagement in Afghanistan and what we as Australians can offer in exchange for the sacrifice paid for us by our past and present servicemen and servicewomen. Also, it was my honour to lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Northern Tasmania at the 11:00am service held at the Launceston Cenotaph. Lest We Forget.
