The Ghana National Road Safety Commission has applauded the Kantanka Automobile company for the provision of strategic safety features on their vehicles and their standardisation to meet international model. The commission made this declaration after touring and ruthlessly inspecting the automobiles and the Kantanka Assembly plant during a routine working visit to the company. The commission observed that the adherence of the company to safety and quality control starts long before the Kantanka vehicles get to the assembly line. At the assembly line, the automated safety check points of the Kantanka Assembly plant further monitor and enhance the safety of Kantanka Automobiles. Alongside these safety procedures, the Kantanka Automobiles also have active safety electronics such as crash avoidance and driver assistance systems. The anti-lock braking and traction control systems are all a boost up to the safety of the vehicles. Also worth noting is the efficient steering and suspensions systems which come with the automobiles. The Company said they are poised to produce world-class vehicles for the market. Kantanka vehicle under inspection by Ghana national road safety commisson Kantanka vehicle under inspection Speaking to the media about the targeted market of the company, the Chief operation officer of the company who is also one of Ghana’s best pilots, Kwadwo Safo Jnr, said they would “focus on the Ghanaian market for now but we aim to reach and serve the West African sub-region, the African continent and beyond in the nearest future.” Also, in a reply to a question posed by a staff of the Ghana News Agency about the capacity of the assembly plant, Kwadwo Safo Jr said they would be producing about 80 to 200 cars in a month but would increase production rate in response to the market. Ing May Obiri-Yeboah (Mrs), Executive Director of the National Road Safety Commission, emphasise that the facilities at Quality Control Division of the company which monitor the engineering, safety, speed and road worthiness of the Kantanka automobiles meet international criteria and standards. The Ghana National Road Safety Commission is an institution in the country promulgated by an Act of Parliament NRSC Act 567 of 1999 and is mandated to ensure the sustainable management of road safety in Ghana.
