The Ghost Busters and the Ghostbusters in the WNU/WNBU Part 1- - TopicsExpress

The Ghost Busters and the Ghostbusters in the WNU/WNBU Part 1- Ivan Ronald Schablotski, I direct your attention in particular to this post, as you are MONSTAAHs main expert on all things Ghostbusters in the WNBU - and any other universe where they have counterparts, as far as Im concerned (e.g., the MHU) - and as such, I will ultimately leave the main decisions regarding the status on all versions of Ghostbusters within the WNBU to you. Commentary from everyone else is also welcome, of course, and will always be listened to and considered. Gordon Long, as MONSTAAHs Master Theorist, I figured you may want to weigh in here with your insights, also! You can watch the episodes of both the live action and animated version of The Ghost Busters (who modified the spelling into a single word for the animated series) on YouTube and Hulu (including the link below). I included the link to the series YouTube channel below for convenience. This post primarily concerns the original version of the Ghost Busters (distinguished here by breaking the name up into two words, as on the live action series), who appeared in the live action series from the 70s and the (IMO) much better animated series in the early 80s, both of which lasted a single season. Matt Hickman linked to one of their episodes on Hulu earlier today, and this gave me the idea to start a thread on them. So my main question is this: Is there any connection between the Ghost Busters and the Ghostbusters whom we are more familiar with? I ask because if they were completely separate orgs who existed in a shared universe, then I would think one or the other would have patented the name (even if spelled slightly differently). So, Ivan, is it possible that the Ghost Busters featuring the trio of Jake, Eddie, and Tracy the Gorilla were the inspiration for the trio of Raymond, Egon, and Winston? It seems the original team formed in the 1970s, and were still active as of 1984, around the time that the first Ghostbusters film took place. Could this mean that the original trio allowed the new team to use the patent, and they simply functioned as two disparate branches of the same org? That is, at least until the original trio met their final fate (whatever it may have been) and went out of operation? More on this in the second part of the thread. I dont want to put too much in a single thread, so Ill break lengthier discussions into separate parts. https://youtube/channel/UCsEu4lk2O55xzm6kXPg0Dag
