In the prerecorded episode, a heartbroken Lesley opens up to Steve about how she has been unable to properly grieve Mike’s death because the circumstances surrounding the situation have been made so public. The episode is quite emotional and their discussion even triggers a tearful response from Steve, who revealed what he’s forced to teach his three sons about deal with the police. Check out a few highlights from her interview below. On what she finds comfort in these days: “Prayer. My other children. It’s very hard.” On not having a chance to grieve: “No. This is so public. You know, most people grieve in silence. I haven’t had any silence.I haven’t had any time to myself. I haven’t had any time to grieve at all.” Steve on teaching his sons about how to act in the presence of police officers: “And for those out there who have to do like I do, because I have three sons and everytime an incident happens like this, we have to go over, we have to go over the things again. Why do I have to teach my sons to assume the position? Why do I have to teach my sons “10 and 2,” palms up? I have to teach my son, when the window goes down, show both hands on both sides.
