Read about this autistic, non-verbal child: [Published on Jan 13, 2015] We’re the Lockwoods. Our son, Calvin, started using cannabis to control the pain caused by bilateral retroversion. Calvin also has autism, was nonverbal, self injurious to the point of 911 calls and bed restraints at emergency rooms. We struggled to afford the $1200-$1500 price tag attached to Calvin’s cannabis. We started talking to Pete in a pediatric cannabis therapy support group. I had just run out of Calvin’s meds. Pete told us that we needed to start growing & processing Calvin’s medicine. We were like, say whaaaaat? But here we are, a year later, growing & processing his meds and he’s never been better. That day, Pete walked me through how to make meds for Calvin. It took some time to find his sweet spot but Calvin is no longer self injurious or aggressive. He’s attending public school for the first time since the 2010-2011 school year. He hasn’t used his PRN (pharma) in 6 months. He’s acquired 60 new words verbally & he said, “I love you.” He’s sleeping at night, instead of eloping and we’re able to go sit down at restaurants.
