The God of my understanding took good care of me and put me in - TopicsExpress

The God of my understanding took good care of me and put me in connection with the people who work for him today. I find myself at Chicago O’Hare airport in a comfortable hotel room with a full stomach. My body and my brain are exhausted after this last week and the rest is a gift. After learning that my flight and 1000s of others had been canceled and were still being canceled, and only while I was driving on I 25, I realized I couldnt do much about it while I was in the car. I told my creator that I’m fine with whatever happens. I was in my seat to Chicago trying to arrange my travel on my phone while I was waiting for the plane to finish loading. My seatmate overheard and asked if he could help me. His name is Jim, just like mine. Jim is retiring from working in the main baggage area here at OHare airport day after tomorrow. When we landed, he walked with me and showed me the United counter located by our arrival gate. I would have rolled right past the turn, and missed the counter altogether without Jim. He called his brother to come pick him up and they were going to give me a ride and a place to stay. After he dropped me at the counter to work on my flight, he checked on my bag which was going who knows where. Ned Heflin, my new friend at the United counter, stepped up to give me a hand. I had no idea if I was going to Houston, Charlotte, or be grounded here in Chicago for days. It turns out my new friend Ned, is a United airport operations supervisor in customer service. Im using text-to-speech for this post as I play my guitar in my comfortable hotel room at the airport Hilton. I can see the window where I check in tomorrow from my hotel window. My standby ticket for the first flight out to Asheville, my confirmed and checked in ticket on the second flight out to Asheville, food vouchers, hotel voucher at the Hilton, as well as the redirection of my bag to Asheville are only a result of his kindness. As I rolled from the United window out the door towards my hotel, I was thinking that my God of understanding takes good care of me. Everybody else in Chicago is running around like chickens with their heads cut off with difficult flight arrangements and no place to stay. Ned said to me, “Now you can say, You know a guy in Chicago.” Not everybody gets to say, “Hey I know a guy in Chicago that can take care that.” I ran into my third friend of the day, Larry Wade. Larry is a kind gentleman who has been playing the guitar and writing music since 1963. He works at Ohare. I had my guitar on the back of my wheelchair backpack style. Larry came over and asked me what make my guitar was. We started chatting. He asked me how my day was. My reply was that I am taken care of better than most, and my days get better every day. He smiled and nodded his head knowingly. We talked about our employer who is a loving employer, our music, and our appreciation for living on this earth as we do. Now, my friend Larry has a little more to him than being just a wonderfully kind and Grace filled person. He has over 57 credits for songwriting, and his work in Motown. I will attach a link to his song that is currently a hit and sung by Jess Stone. I told him about my song, Riding the White Line. My new friend and I have some time in the future together. So as it goes, my amazing and magical life keeps unfolding and as long as I’m looking to the stars and trying to follow a path that isnt my own, this is how my life happens. I haven’t had a second in my days to post about my experience that the manager’s at the Four Seasons in Vail did for me. One of the very generous things they did for me without my asking, was to give me two nights lodging at the four seasons in Vail, to be used at my discretion for Charity. I have given them to the golf tournament that is supporting my MS global fundraising. I finally can repay a bit of kindness to Connie Huff, the person who so kindly said “Don’t use your energy this summer to raise any money. That will be done for you. Use your energy doing what you do best. In my letter from the Four Seasons, they also included two nights for me and a guest. They knew if they gave that to me for my use, I would use it for a charitable cause. So they beat me to the punch. All I can say is that I am the luckiest guy in this planet. I don’t mean because I have this incredible magical life filled with Meaningful Coincidence. I mean that I have Grace and My God walking beside me. I asked for it over a decade ago when I was broken from living the lifestyle of self, propelled without the direction of Grace. Just stay on the White Line and ride forward into time. JAB Good night and God bless, Jimmy D
