It is a love that cannot be understood or comprehended with the natural mind. That love has a length that can’t be fully captured, a breadth that cannot be completely covered, a height that cannot be totally discovered and a depth that cannot be explored. This is why Paul prayed that 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:16-19 KJV) Like Message translation puts it, God wants us to experience “…the extravagant dimensions of Christs love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.” Jesus did not die for righteous people. He died for sinners. He dislikes the sin in your life, but He loves you as a person, and He will do anything to get one soul saved. He has already done the most that anybody would do, He died for you and I, He went through the shame of the creature despising the creator, He emptied himself of His glory, laid down His life for you and I. He endured hostilities and contradictions, He sweated blood in the garden of Gethsemane and He carried His cross. He was beaten and mutilated so that we can be healed; nailed to the cross so that we can be free from curses…what a love! He died for you and I while we were yet sinners and without hope…what a love!
