The Gold Coast Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic incident that occurred earlier this evening at Surfers Paradise. Initial investigations indicate that two women from overseas, aged 40 and 77 years, were crossing Ferny Avenue at about 8pm, when they were struck by a vehicle travelling south. Both women were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition with what appeared to be head injuries and fractures. They remain there in a stable condition. Investigations are continuing and as such, there is no further information available at this stage.
