The Golden age of American TV is often mentioned on facebook- Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Sopranos etc etc etc. I have never been as fond of what is commonly known as the American dramadies -ie Weeds, Veep, Tara etc. But I am growing compulsively fond of The Big C-Laura Linney (one of the great modern actors) has won Golden Globes and Emmies for it for years. It got a terrible run on Australian TV (what else is new, its quality TV)not even on cable but the B grade commercial channels at about 11 30pm. A lot of people have been put off by the subject matter- a comedy/drama with the lead character living with cancer. Let me tell you for any person looking for thoughtful TV that moves deeply and occasionally amuses ---this is a grade A must-youtube/watch?v=HxolyYcX1io
