The Good Lie! You MUST, MUST, MUST go see this movie. It will change you. It will make you believe. It will give you hope. It will make you smile and it will make you cry. 9 years ago, I arrived in Los Angeles with Hollywood dreams and started working at United Talent Agency for Blair Kohan. One of the first scripts I read was a script called the Lost Boys by Margaret Nagle. She was a client of the agency and I had seen the incredible 60 minutes on the Lost Boys of Sudan who came to America escaping the horrors they faced in Africa, so I decided to read it. Of the hundreds of scripts I would go on to read, The Lost Boys was always one of my favorites. Two years later, I started working for Keya Khayatian and low and behold, Margaret was one of Keyas clients! (and Larry Salz too!) In our very first conversation, I mentioned to Margaret that I had read this script of hers (that was several years old at the time). She was rather shocked that I had discovered it. We bonded over the story of the Lost Boys and Margaret instantly became a dear life-long friend. But I sadly had to watch with empathy as her amazing script never found the legs it deserved. Fast Forward 6 years and I hear the incredible news that not only had the movie found a willing maker, but it also had signed on Reese Witherspoon. And now, after a thousand nos, after double-digit years, and after an almost certain fate... the movie is out in theatres, perhaps a fitting journey symbolic of the one its characters had to take as they became orphans of war. Go see this movie. Learn this story. Im so happy for and proud of Margaret Nagle.
