The Gorindemabwe Frontier has released its 2013 list of most influential young Zimbabweans. Background The Gorindemabwe Frontier is an arc of acumen platform whose mandate is to inspire thought leadership in Africa. The project of the recognition of 100 Most Influential Young Zimbabweans is inspired by the realistic need to raise the next generation of heroes in Zimbabwe. Our definition of influence is derived from the essence of thought leadership. This means that our focus is on young Zimbabweans who are driving agendas that will enable the Zimbabwean society to embrace the future it wishes to see come to true. The criteria of selection includes anchors such as prudent visionary leadership, entrepreneurial acumen and commitment to contribution. Our age definition of young refers to people under 40. The names and profiles of people who make it on our list are obtained from a wide range of sources who work with young Zimbabweans who are trendsetters. There is a shrewd process of trimming down the lengthy list to become a short list and then finally into a final list. The verifications and final rankings are done by an independent panel. It is our firm belief that Zimbabwe will be taken to its promised land by its young people. In the same spirit, it is our hope that this project will inspire many more young Zimbabweans to rise from mediocrity and step up to the call of destiny and by so doing carry the burden of what it means to be Zimbabwean in the 21stcentury. We remain overdosed with the inspiration of the fact that Zimbabwe is full of young overachievers. Our call to action is to remind young Zimbabweans that Zimbabwe will do well as an economy only if they realize that no one is more special than the other,or more Zimbabwean than the other. Thus they should embrace that we all need each other and everyone matters.
