The Gospel Hymn “Where Could I Go” was written in 1940 by Summerland, Mississippi born James Buchanan Coats. Coats a lifetime lover of music began teaching music at the age of fourteen and spent much of his life as a staff writer for the Stamps Baxter Music Company. “Living low in this old sinful world, Seeking a comfort for my soul; Where could I go, O where could I go, Seeking a refuge from my soul? Striving alone to face temptations sore, Where could I go but to the Lord…? At the Freetown Road Church of Christ in Grand Prairie, Texas we’ll save a seat for you and the kids. My sermon this morning is entitled “Running The Race of Faith,” from the 12th chapter of Hebrews.
