The Gospel for Sunday, 7/20 (Matthew 13:24-30,36-43) confronts us with the reality that the world is full of both good and bad, mixed together - side by side. So how are we to engage this frustrating world? As Christians our primary role model is Jesus Christ. Jesus chose to engage this world full of good and bad with Love and Trust in God. For Christ Love was not a feeling or emotion, it was action and a radical challenge to the systems he encountered that worked to enslave people and keep them from being able to live into the abundance of the Kingdom of God.
