The Gospel of Peace conference was created by Bishops Against Gun Violence in the aftermath of Sandy Hook Elementary. But the emphasis is more on the violence than the guns. Its a social, moral, spiritual challenge -- our faith in violence over our faith in God. The recent Ft. Hood shooting, the Pittsburgh stabbings, all the mass violence. But individual violence takes more lives. We are here to recommit the Church to being a a force for peace by reclaiming what Jesus taught and we have always purported to believe
