The Government and David Yau Yau’s South Sudan Democratic party has signed a peace agreement in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa. The peace Agreement was signed by Rev. Canon Clement Janda on behalf of the government and Lt Gen. Butrus Khalid on the side of SSDM/A. The peace agreement, intended to stabilize Jonglei state was signed today by the government and Yau Yau delegates in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. The agreement recognizes Pibor as an administrative area based on the constitutional principal of decentralization. It shall be governed by a Chief Administrator with the status of a state governor. Six counties will be created in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area after consulting with Payams or Bomas. Upon his remarks the Government chief negotiator Rev. Canon clement Janda says the national legislature shall determine the legal position of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area and ensure implementation of the agreement. . Meanwhile SSDM/A cobra faction head of delegation Lt. Gen. Butrus Khalidsays his party is committed to implementing the peace agreement. Meanwhile the peace mediator Bishop Paride Taban commends president Salva and David Yau Yau for giving peace a chance. The agreement provides security arrangement shall be done in a week times by a technical committee to be formed. Pibor Administrative area shall witness fair presentation in the National government in positions presidential advisors, ministers, deputy ministers and chairmen of commissions as per the constitution.
