The Government continues to attack and remove workers rights in the UK. The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 has now been published. Tucked away at page 65 of a 284 page Act is S69 which amends S47(2) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The effect of the clause will be that breaches of statutory duty will not give rise to civil liability unless specifically provided for. The Bill did not set out any such specific provisions. This means that employees injured during the course of their employment will only be able to pursue claims based on common law negligence. aworkingclassman/civil-injustice/
