The Government had to make a hard decision when it came to deporting a teenager to Mauritius just weeks before her A-levels, taking her away from her parents and probably ruining her life. Rules is rules, as they say. Fortunately though, when culture secretary Maria Miller was found to have swindled taxpayers out of thousands of pounds, it didnt have to make a hard decision at all and she stayed on as if nothing had happened. For the simple reason that she is one of the very few women in Camerons creaking Etonian cabal and they are desperate not to look like a bunch of ancient, frock coated throwbacks as they introduce their ancient, frock coated policies. Well done, lads! (And lady).
