"The Great Apes: Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Bonobos and Orangutans. All are extremely close to being lost in the wild forever, from threats caused by the other great ape - Humans. With the first World Orangutan Day just around the corner (19th August!), we wanted to highlight the 2013 Great Apes Summit at which Damien will be speaking this year. The summit is next month, and all participants will take part in topic-driven meetings to highlight areas of concern and propose solutions for stronger protection of apes and their habitats. In scientific terms (and in ways beyond that), we’re part of the same family… and if your family was in trouble, you’d help them out… wouldn’t you?"
