The Great Book of Ireland is currently on display in the Glucksman - TopicsExpress

The Great Book of Ireland is currently on display in the Glucksman Gallery as part of the exhibition “Facing Pages: the art of the Great Book of Ireland”. From today and for the next fortnight, the feature page on display is the contribution by the poet Máire Mhac an tSaoí and the artist, Yehuda Bacon. The poem is ‘Shoa’ which was written after a visit to Vienna with her husband, Dr. Conor Cruise O’Brien. The poem is written in Irish with an English translation provided. The page was sent to the artist Yehuda Bacon, a Jewish survivor of Auschwitz and Theresiendstadt, then living in Israel. He returned the page with his added contribution and signed his work with his camp number, which can be seen near the top of the left page. If you like to see more contributions you can ‘flick through’ a digital copy of The Great Book of Ireland at touch-screens located at various points in the gallery. For more information on the exhibition and a calendar of events taking place during the course exhibition do check out glucksman.org/
