The Great Gatsby is a 1974 film that was starred by Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. In this version of Gatsby, the story is the same but somehow extended from the 2013 film. The result was there were no flashbacks which was described in the book. Some said that it was one of the worst films of the year because of its lengthy scenes and the party described in the film. In the 2013 it is more neat and clean. The music is equal to the generations but the music in 2013 has the essence of the book. The emotional content of both the versions has different views from their respective timelines. Both are faithful to the book but in terms of the 2013 version the deleted scenes there (especially the ending) was faithful to the book. Both the movies are fantastic for their respective timelines but the 2013 version is better in terms of music and story. Both of it shows the definition of the Great Economic Depression of America after World War I. The historical aspects did not shown much comparing to the 2013 version of the film. The costumes are colorful in terms of the 1920s.
