The Great Wall of China provided me with my happiest China moment and my worst. Kim and I were riding up the side of the mountain in the ski lift when the unthinkable happened....my camera slipped off my arm and fell out the back of the ski lift! I know my heart stopped for a moment. All I could think was that all my pictures are lying on the ground and how will I get to them! I could take a broken camera ...i just wanted my memory card. The dilemma better when our conference leader translated the problem to the workers below (once we had arrived at the top). They searched and actually found my camera! Happiest sight was watching it come up the mountain in its own cable car! And not a scratch on it! Plus the memory card was intact. Only then could I enjoy the Great Wall! So thanks to those hard working folk from the Great Wall who helped the crazy American and put up with her hugs when she got the camera back and for great trip leaders like Guali.
