The Greek word Χριστιανός (Christianos)—meaning - TopicsExpress

The Greek word Χριστιανός (Christianos)—meaning "follower of Christ"—comes from Χριστός (Christos)—meaning "anointed one"—with an adjectival ending borrowed from Latin to denote ADHERING to, or even BELONGING to, as in SLAVE OWNERSHIP. A christian is not one who just profess faith in Jesus as the Christ (King) and regularly attend meetings but one whose sole purpose in life is to emulate His way of life and observe His commandments. Do we really know what it means to call ourselves a christian?
