The Grout Museum/Iowa Veterans Museum lost a great friend and supporter with the passing of Norbert Norb Trainor this week. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II and was active in veterans organizations. He loved to talk about his naval experiences including surviving the sinking of two ships (USS Chicago and USS Gambier Bay) he served on. Norbert volunteered at the Iowa Veterans Museum and was a member of the Wednesday morning coffee group. His warm smile and personality will be greatly missed.
