The HA HA BIRDS, ladies and gentlemen, would like to make a statement. They would like to comment on all the hoopla posted after the Poaching expose that was viewed and the interview of Lawyer P.Mulgor. For this I apologize for not posting the report on the KWS Press conference, it is ready, and further info on poachers and their modus operandi. This is what we have to say and it reflects the facts and the opinion of some that inbox without detracting from anyones particular opinion. This has become a showdown between Kenya Wildlife Service and Wildlife Direct that really only uses the excuse of conservation and the just fight against poaching for ulterior motives. In the meantime, as poachers, and not the few ex or still in KWS poachers, keep laughing as the Wildlife Bill seems to be floundering and not through KWS interference, but .... poaching of rhinos and elephants and bush meat has not stopped .... maybe just the sale of lovebirds. This is a war fought for the wrong reasons, but a profitable war for some, and funded by what could be mishandling of funds donated to fight poachers. Funds that should really go to help fight against poaching ... rangers are few, equipment is a problem (but that is a government problem isnt it not strictly KWS) .... but travel and propaganda is expensive ... so is it legitimate to ask how much will be spent to use a full page in a Kenyan newspaper (coming soon) to attack who and what at the end is not the real target ... even the President has problems with our otherwise distracted MP..s ... the mind boggles! The HA HA BIRDS have never been easy on KWS, but despite their defensive statement that there is no crisis, which really meant we are getting on top of it (statements that dont surprise me after exploding bulbs and Westgate mattresses ... PR is not easy) .... we really think that we must have a full inquiry on how donations and funding (from many foreign sources as well) are actually spent. We cant criticize government if we dont set an example of transparency can we? .... or expect to become saviours of wildlife. All we know is that on this matter Wildlife Direct wont answer the phone to explain, even when a know and responsible top reporter from a Kenyan Daily phones. Amen. Now we can get the other Ha Ha Birds report out of the way. It had to be said to cut to the quick and even remove Religion from all this ...
