The HUGE flaw in the modern gospel of grace movement? What many teach is not a cheap grace...but a cheap DISCIPLESHIP! The deception is found not as they preach GRACE...but the fact that they are not actually preaching GRACE at all...as they never denote...and often DENY...where grace must LEAD a new convert! If you examine the gospel of grace closely...what is discovered is THIS reality: Many are teaching a cheap DISCIPLESHIP...and... in deceptive error... they are merging the two (grace and discipleship) into one distorted doctrine. The truth? GRACE is the just the DOORWAY to DISCIPLESHIP. You cannot travel through the DOOR of GRACE without entering into a LIFE of DISCIPLESHIP. The cost of DISCIPLESHIP? Take up your cross... The FREE GIFT of GRACE is only the ENTRY FEE to the COSTLY LIFE of DISCIPLESHIP. If we cheapen the PRICE of DISCIPLESHIP...we DISTORT the DOCTRINE of GRACE. Never preach a grace so cheap that it costs you nothing. Salvation is free...but DISCIPLESHIP costs EVERYTHING. Today...PULPITS most often preach the FREE GIFT of GRACE while ignoring the HIGH COST of DISCIPLESHIP. What good is enrollment in the ARMY OF GOD (salvation by grace) if the SOLDIERS refuse to fight (discipleship)! Sadly...most who ENLIST in the ARMY OF GOD immediately become DESERTERS.
