The Hare And Hounds, Sheen, Saturday 17th AUGUST Our third visit - TopicsExpress

The Hare And Hounds, Sheen, Saturday 17th AUGUST Our third visit to this lovely place. We had been booked to play in the garden, but given the weather, the management wisely moved us in doors. And what a good night it turned out to be. First time we have played as a four piece, and whilst we had some initial anxieties, they were soon dispelled. A great audience of friends and family, but most importantly, lost of nice regulars in their local. With a sound balance (thanks to Andy) that was really good, old favourites, like ‘Help Me’ and ‘Little Red Rooster’, were well received. Jez and Richard turned on their magic for a truly lovely rendition of ‘Midnight River’. Andy’s bass as ever, held everything solidly together. In the second half, Jez’s slide playing on ‘Shake your Money Maker’ had them out of their chairs and dancing, and then they never sat down again. The band were clearly firing on all four! At the end of the evening after no less than three high octane encores, the bar staff even asked if we could do another, as they had just finished their shift and had been wanting to have a dance. Needless to say, big thanks to all the staff who looked after us so well, and next time we’ll make sure you get your dance as well. Thanks of course to all the good friends who regularly come along to cheer us on, and a big thank you to all the new faces we met. Hope to see you all again soon. Next gig, Friday 13th September at The Hope in Richmond. See you there? Cheers again, And the midnight river keeps rolling on, Howard
