The Harlem Globetrotters have confirmed star player Bull Bullard - TopicsExpress

The Harlem Globetrotters have confirmed star player Bull Bullard will lead the Globetrotters into the New York City area for seven games (Feb. 14-17). Bull will be in NYC for “Globetrotter Week” starting Monday, Feb. 10 with teammate Hawk Thomas for a series of goodwill visits leading up to the games. OVERVIEW: Bull, who previously tried out for the New York Jets, made the Finals of American Ninja Warrior, and recently survived a scary hoop collapse, will lead the world famous team into Manhattan, North Jersey, and Long Island. Fittingly, the Globetrotters 2014 Fans Rule World Tour will be the first event to play all five major arenas in the NYC-area in a span of only one weekend – playing Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, Nassau Coliseum, Prudential Center, and IZOD Center. Dates, times, and ticket info are at the bottom of this email. DUNK GONE WRONG: Bull’s dunk in Honduras this past November instantly went viral. WATCH: youtu.be/jgEW2_lJY6E. Other fan videos of the dunk can be seen HERE. His injuries were minor. His dislocated shoulder and gash to the head have healed and he is expected to be back to his normal self in NYC – hanging up-side-down on the hoop, standing on the rim to kick away a shot, and doing back-flips down the court. TRYOUT WITH THE NEW YORK JETS: In 2008, the NY Jets invited Bull to their rookie camp – solely based on his proven athleticism and size on the basketball court while playing for Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. Bull never played football previously. Shortly after the tryout, he joined the Globetrotters. AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR: In 2012, Bull made it to the Las Vegas finals of the obstacle course show, “American Ninja Warrior,” without ever training for this type of competition. Through encouragement of his foster mom, he took up basketball as a way to avoid inner city crime and gangs. OTHER FUN FACTS: Bull collects tube socks – he nailed a perfect score in the 2008 College Slam Dunk Contest – and has appeared on other TV shows: “Man v. Food Nation,” “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition,” and “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s.” FULL GAME SCHEDULE IN NYC-AREA (Feb. 11-17): Tuesday, Feb 11 White Plains at Westchester County Center (7pm) Friday, Feb. 14 Brooklyn – Barclays Center (7pm) Saturday, Feb. 15 Long Island – Nassau Coliseum (2pm & 7pm) Sunday, Feb. 16 Madison Square Garden (1pm) … Newark – Prudential Center (7pm) Monday, Feb. 17 East Rutherford, NJ – IZOD Center (11am & 4pm) The Globetrotters’ 2014 “Fans Rule” tour allows fans to vote on which rules they want to see – NEW RULES include the Trick Shot Challenge and Hot Hand Jersey.
