The Hartford (CT) County Fire School is co-located on the grounds of the CT Fire Academy in Windsor Locks CT. Previously the HCFS utilized the CFAs apparatus and facilities for training. This sometimes led to crowding and scheduling conflicts, so a major building program gave the HCFS their own apparatus bay and an additional burn building was constructed behind the CFAs building in the area that was the large parking lot. Apparatus was also acquired for the HCFS to utilize for training. Here are some photos of the apparatus. The 1st photo is of the CFA fleet, from left to right L-1 a 1997 Sutphen mid mount ladder, E-2 a 1995 Spartan Marion pumper, R-1 a 2004 International Saulsbury heavy duty rescue, and E-1 a 1996 KME pumper. The 2nd photo also shows the HCFS apparatus bay with their E-13, a 1984 Pierce Dash pumper, and R-1, a 1990 E-One Hurricane heavy duty rescue. Finally a photo of the CT State Fire Fighters Memorial.
