The Hawes Funeral Home Management and Staff gently announces the death of Mrs. Anna Rosendahl Stallings, 71, of Princess Place Drive, Wilmington, N.C. She died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Mrs. Anna Stallings was born September 28, 1942 to the late Samuel Luther Williams and the late Marie Brown in Charleston S.C. Upon graduating from the Charleston school system, she moved to Savannah, Georgia briefly in 1967, then moved to New Jersey in 1969. There she worked as a housekeeper and director of housekeeping for Quality Inn for many years. Upon retirement in 2002, she moved to Wilmington, NC near her daughter and met many new friends. Mrs. Stalling was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Bryant and Josephine Butler; two brothers, Booker T. Washington and Samuel Washington She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Adam C. Washington of Spartanburg, SC, two daughters, April Stallings of Irving TX and Annette Stallings of Wilmington NC; eight step-children, Bessie Thomas, Gerri Wright, DeWitt L. Stalling, Jr, Catherine Stallings, Gwendolyn Stallings, Leon Stallings, LaTonia Stallings, and LaMonte M. Stallings; three sisters, Constance Johnson of Portland, ME, Patricia Brown and Yvonne Washington both of Charleston, SC; three brothers, Edward R. Washington(Savannah) of Alexandria LA, Alvin A. Washington(Classine) of Pensacola, FL, and Jackie L. Washington(Annette) of High Point, NC; 25 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends. forevermissed/anna-rosendahl-stallings/#about
