The Headstand Challenge is in support of Peter. Peter is 7 and a half years old and he has brain cancer. Here is more info on Peter written by his beautiful mother Terra Demiris. Peter is a seven and a half year old boy with an inquisitive mind, an open heart, and a passion for Lego! He is our hero! Just six days past his sixth birthday Peter was diagnosed with DIPG or diffused intrinsic pontine glioma. This inoperable brain tumor is one of the most dangerous and difficult childhood cancers to treat. This is because it is located inside of the pons, which is a part of the brainstem. This delicate area is responsible for the most important functions of the human body; breathing, heartbeat, swallowing, mobility, eyesight. Peter is beating the odds and is doing wonderfully! He has learned to ride a bike and is back at school! Thanks to good nutrition and natural supplements he has already far outlived his original prognosis and is going strong! His family will continue to learn and improve in their journey towards wellness and in their fight against this tumor. The traditional treatment is to receive radiation which will hopefully buy time. There is no suitable treatment for this disease. This is due to lack of funding and awareness.
