The Hellion came back. After a stark flash of light in nights that passed, darkness fell and Sam was alone; kneeling in the vast field, she looked up at the sky and searched for Him but He was gone. The Stars came down and cloaked her eyes, searing the lids with tender fire. Concealed within the silent tears. Within the heartbreak. Within the pain. Sam conceived Him by memory, her light wrapped around Him, and they plummeted unto the abyss He had told her in stories before sleep allowed her to enter Dream; the flash of the fall echoed with the humming of His voice.
